Meet the Executive
11.25
PYPS is run by a number of talented young people whose unique gifts make them a great asset to their fellow youth. Although we’d love for you to meet them in person, we can at least introduce them via the interwebs.

The Fearless President - Jamie McFarlane Jamie is an elder at his home church of Knox, Oakville, a longtime PYPSer and an unabashed nerd. In his spare time, he enjoys dressing up as a zombie and staggering through the streets of Toronto. He also enjoys turning other people into zombies, but with the liberal application of makeup rather than the usual cannibalistic methods.

The Demure Past President - Connie Purvis Connie attends Westview, Toronto, where she's a member of her church's liturgical dance group and frequently watches movies. In her spare time, she likes to dress up as almost anything and prance around. She also writes for a denominational rag known as the Presbyterian Record.

The Magical Treasurer - Alex Greig Alex is a member of Jubilee, Stayner, but is currently attending college in Owen Sound. In addition to his accounting skills, Alex is a master of juggling glowing balls and freaking out his fellow PYPSers with card tricks. We're pretty sure he's hiding a rabbit on him somewhere.

The Friendly Outreach Coordinator - Connor Watson Connor is possibly the friendliest person we've ever met. He's involved with our own PYPS group, as well as the group in the Synod of Southwestern Ontario because he's just that hardcore. He or one of his minions would be happy to visit with your youth group or congregation and tell you a little more about PYPS and youth stuff in our synod. He also gives the best massages known to humankind.

The Magnificent Music Director - Nicole McLellan-Cliteur Nicole has left our synod to attend university in Ottawa, but she's never left in spirit. She attends St. Andrew's, Ottawa where she's involved in the colleges and careers group. In her spare time, she's Superwoman.

The Ridiculous Representative Members - Nigil Inglis and Jorge Acra These devilishly handsome fellows enjoy meeting new people at PYPS, and one likes to make juice while not wearing a shirt. We'll let you figure out which one.

The Wonderful Winter Weekend Convenors - Rosemary Brett and Ethan Brown Rosemary is a paid soloist at Beaches, Toronto. In addition to her budding career as a calendar girl, we think she should go into stand-up comedy and professional hug-giving. She and her fabulous voice are heading up this year's winter event, which will take place in February. It'll include some amazing music and dance; we're all looking forward to it. During the summer months, Ethan enjoys running like a crazy person through the woods of Camp Kintail, where he's a councillor. But this summer he'll also be heading to Malawi for a three-week mission exposure tour. We're sure he'll like running like a crazy person through African forests as well. He attends Calvin, Kitchener and is passionate about mission, and thinks PYPS should definitely do a trip in the near future.

The Kickin' Spring Fellowship Convenor - Mike Watt Like Nicole, Mike has left our synod for the wilds of Ottawa where he's attending school. But we know he'll never really escape (mwahaha!) He's heading the planning team for this year's spring event, which will take place at Camp Cairn near Baysville on the May long weekend (May 21-24, 2010). He also attends St. Andrew's while he's at school.

The Fabulous Fall Convention Convenors - Tristan Gerrie and Madeleine McLaren Tristan is hangin' in Toronto while he takes courses from the University of Guelph at Humber College campus. Madeleine lives in Barrie and will be finishing high school this year. With their powers combined, they'll be heading up our ever-popular fall weekend, which will be complete with dance party, and should take place in early October.

The Great Synod Youth Consultant - Rev. Jeff Crawford Jeff is a former PYPSer who spent a couple of years south of the border working in youth ministry at Montreat Conference Centre, which is run by the Presbyterian Church (USA). He's now one of three regional staff for our synod. His job is to help support and encourage all things related to youth and youth ministry. It's a big job, but he's the king. One day we think we'll get him a big shiny hat. You're always welcome to contact Jeff about anything happening in your home congregation, and we'll be posting info about any events or workshops he's running, so keep an eye out for those details as well. And because we know you're asking--yes, he always dresses this swanky!
MIA – The Wise Adult Advisor – Ruth Millard
